EEUK 2013

EEUK returns this year to Manchester on the 16 – 17 May 2013 for another gathering of ExpressionEngine designers, developers and evangelists.

This year Ian Ebden (DesignKarma) has teamed up with Joel Bradbury (SquareBit) for the organization of the 2 day EEUK.13 event. This is now the only ExpressionEngine conference of its kind outside of the US. It’s an excellent opportunity to meet like minded individuals and share a drink and some good ExpressionEngine related conversation.

Day one is workshop day, with tutor Lodewijk Schutte (aka “Low”). Learn the ins-and-outs of ExpressionEngine add-on development from the master.

Day two is conference day at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, England. I am delighted to have been invited to speak again this year along with some other old and new faces. Speakers include Ben Croker, Andy Marshall, Tim Mahoney, Chris Mills, Carl Crawley, Christopher Imrie and myself John Henry Donovan. There’ll be something for everyone, from beginner to expert.

Below is the outline of my intended talk

Bending the EE Control Panel

Often we have an opportunity to spend more time customizing the client’s ExpressionEngine control panel experience. I will walk you through examples on how to make the largely underused ExpressionEngine Dashboard a useful stop for your clients, using available addons and creating custom widgets for others. I will also walk through case studies on various other customizations created specifically for clients in the control panel.
