ExpressionEngine Conference 2013

I am proudly speaking at the upcoming ExpressionEngine Conference in Portland, Oregon. The conference boasts the most extensive business and technical training ever assembled for ExpressionEngine.

ExpressionEngine Conference 2013

I have heard great things about Portland, Oregon and seems like a great city with an excellent vibe to it. It plays venue to EECI2013 this year which is on the 14th and 15th of October. I have been lucky enough to attend 2 past EECI conferences in America and have not been disappointed. The topics and workshops are certainly plentiful with a huge array of speakers making it difficult to actually make decisions on who to see. I speak twice on the second day and would love to see you attend. It’s not just the talks though. The EECMS community are second to none and if you are having doubts about attending and not knowing anybody there, don’t worry as they are the most approachable and friendliest bunch I have had the pleasure of being a part of.

These are my topics

Bending the ExpressionEngine Control Panel

Often we have an opportunity to spend more time customising the client’s ExpressionEngine control panel experience. I will walk you through examples on how to make the largely underused ExpressionEngine Dashboard a useful stop for your clients, using available add-ons and creating custom widgets for others. I will also walk through case studies on various other customizations created specifically for clients in the control panel. I spoke on the same topic for EEUK13 back in May and have made a few changes to it based on feedback.

Front-End Member Control Panels for ExpressionEngine

On membership based websites we are often called upon to create more than a simple front-end ‘Edit Profile’ page for logged in members. I will show tips, tricks and examples for creating a more feature rich experience for logged in members, allowing them to contribute to site’s content, manage their personal details and communicate with other members.
